The Florida Society of the Social Sciences (F3S) invites you to participate in the 19th Annual Conference of the Social Sciences (CSS) on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the Reitz Union. The conference is expected to run from 9AM to 5PM; a complete program will be provided closer to the conference date.
This interdisciplinary conference provides undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and community members with an opportunity to showcase their research, engage in meaningful discussions, and connect with scholars from diverse social science fields. Participants from any institution or organization are welcome—affiliation with the University of Florida is not required.
This year’s theme is “Deconstructing Academia: Diverse Voices, Methods, and Perspectives,” and the conference will highlight research that explores underrepresented methodologies, populations, and topics that are often seen as non-canonical within traditional academic disciplines. In keeping with this focus, our Keynote Speaker, Dr. Rachel Grant (UF Journalism), and Workshop Leader, Dr. Rafael Solórzano (UF Center for Latin American Studies), bring unique perspectives that challenge conventional academic boundaries.
While we encourage submissions that align with this theme, we also welcome research on any topic relevant to the social sciences. Presentation formats include paper presentations and poster presentations, as well as alternative formats such as artistic presentations and interactive demonstrations.
Whether you are presenting finished research or works in progress, this conference offers a supportive environment for discussion and professional growth. We look forward to your submissions and to an engaging conference celebrating the diversity of social science research!
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Monday, March 17
