Call for Judges

The Florida Society for the Social Sciences (F3S) is seeking faculty members and postdocs to serve as judges for the 19th Annual Conference of the Social Sciences (CSS) at the University of Florida on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the Reitz Union. The conference is expected to run from 9AM to 5PM; a complete program will be provided closer to the conference date. This interdisciplinary conference provides undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to present their research and receive valuable feedback from scholars across the social sciences.

We invite you to contribute to the conference by serving as a judge for one or more of our research awards. Judging responsibilities vary, with some roles requiring attendance at the conference and others allowing for remote participation:

  1. Paper Judge: Read and evaluate approximately five papers between April 6–18 using a provided rubric. Conference attendance is not required.
  2. Poster Judge: Attend the poster session at the conference and score posters and their presenters using a provided rubric. Conference attendance is required.
  3. Best Paper Presentation Judge: Attend at least two (2) paper sessions at the conference and evaluate presenters based on a provided rubric. Conference attendance is required.

Judges may serve in multiple capacities if desired but cannot evaluate students whom they directly advise or supervise.
